Yesterday, the 5th Year students had a trip to UCD to assist them with their career planning and to let them know about the college courses available in UCD. The students attended an information session at the UCD Student Village and then went on a campus tour given by current UCD students. Hopefully the students enjoyed learning about UCD’s courses and college life!
OLS pupils celebrated Saint Valentine’s Day in advance in our lovely Oratory today, Friday. Special thanks to Lauren, Laura and Sophie from the Le Chéile team for preparing and delivering our service.
Lots of congratulations are in order this week…
- Kathryn King, LC Class of 2025, received an Entrance Scholars award in UCD this week in recognition of her excellent Leaving Certificate results!
- Niamh O’Callaghan and Fia Rothwell were selected for the Leinster Hockey 2011 development panel. We wish the girls the best of luck with their time training in the group!
- Daria Borcan, Sylvie Marley and Caitlin Comerford represented OLS superbly with very strong performances at the Leinster Schools Championship Gala, which took place last Sunday, at the National Aquatic Centre.
- Neisha Fairbrother and Rachel Leahy (TY) have been selected to showcase their entry ‘Octoglam’ in this year’s Junk Kouture competition. Octoglam will take to the catwalk on the third of the three Semi Finals in the Helix on March 11th. Tickets for the show can be purchased from the Helix box office.
- Our 3rd and 6th Year students have now completed their mock exams and are to be congratulated on their magnificent application and perseverance throughout the challenge.
- Well done to the TYs who have completed a week of Work Experience.

Reminders:
- TYs and their parents are invited to the GPA on Monday 23rd February at 7.15pm for an important information session regarding subject choices for 5th Year.
- School will finish at 3.15pm on Tuesday 24th February to facilitate the 1st Year Parent-Teacher Meeting.
- Parents of our incoming 1st Years (2026-27) will be joining us in the GPA on Tuesday 24th February at 7.15pm.
