Well done to our 4th Years who received their Junior Cycle Results on Wednesday. TY2 had a creative time at Fighting Words where they composed written pieces of work together. Literacy is critical for self development and the recent PISA Report 2026 indicated that unfortunately literacy is declining across Europe.
Therefore we are raising awareness about the importance of literacy in our school through our Form Captains who have taken on the role of ‘Literacy Leaders’. Every classroom now has a ‘Word Wall’ where teachers record new vocabulary and every week two of our ‘Literacy Leaders’ read the ‘Words of the Week’ over the intercom. We encourage all of our students to read regularly and so we attach our Autumn Reading List for Juniors and Seniors.
