Dear Parents,
Next week is Walk or Wheel Week (WOW Week) which focuses on the importance of walking, cycling or using public transport to and from school everyday. We have made great strides as a school in reducing our carbon footprint and the associated air pollution caused by cars in the last year, but we continue to remind all students of the importance of being dropped off at a local road and walking even 5 minutes to school each morning. This will reduce traffic congestion, air pollution and improve students’ health and wellbeing.
We are delighted that our school has been selected to participate in the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) programme, SRTS is designed to enable students to safely walk, cycle and wheel to school. As part of the initial phase of this programme, the SRTS team would like to gather information on how our students travel to school and where they start their journey. Your input is needed to help create a safer route to school and so we request that you complete a short survey by the 25th October 2026. Please click Survey Link More information about this programme is available at
Safe Routes to School | Promoting Safe Travel to Schools.
We look forward to seeing our students walk, cycle or wheel to school next week and going forwards,
Kind regards,
Gráinne Byrne
Principal
