People all over the world celebrate St Patrick’s Day on the 17th of March. On this day we remember our Patron Saint, St Patrick, who is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland. St. Patrick spread the message of Christianity across the land and used the three leaves of the shamrock to explain the 3 parts of one God; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Over the years our traditions have been honoured in countries such as America, Russia and even Japan. The holiday has evolved into a celebration of Irish culture with parades, Irish stews galore, music and dancing. The colour green and shamrocks are closely associated with this event as it represents the green landscape and luscious scenes that Ireland is so well known for.
