The Minister for Education’s announcement today means that 3rd Year students will complete their Junior Cycle assessment window in May of this year through a set of school-designed assessments. They will not sit Junior Certificate papers after the summer. Their May assessments will reflect the work that has been done by the students this year and over their Junior Cycle programme as well as the challenging circumstances of the current situation. When an assessment overview has been finalised by staff we will communicate it fully to students and parents. We aim to do this by Friday. We understand that this has been a worrying wait for our students and families but we endeavour to bring clarity to you as soon as possible and assure our students they will have full support to prepare for their assessments.
