The Naughton Scholarships are a scheme of scholarships to promote the study of engineering, science and technology at third level by students in Ireland. Each year from February to May Leaving Certificate students can apply for a scholarship if they intend on studying science, engineering or technology at third level that year.
They are particularly interested in students applying to study STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) related subjects rather then the more practical sciences (Medicine, Nursing, Veterinary, Physiotherapy etc). All applications are reviewed in August each year and the winners of scholarships are notified in September.
To be considered for a scholarship students must (a) be attending a second level school in the Republic of Ireland (b) be an applicant applying for admission to an engineering, science, maths or technology related course in any publicly funded university or third-level institution in Ireland, including Northern Ireland.
A Naughton Scholarship is currently worth €20,000 (€5,000 for each year of a four year undergraduate degree) or €15,000 for a three year degree.
Please see www.thenaughtonfoundation.com for further information and application details.
The Closing Date for receipt of applications is midnight on 31st May 2020.
Further information on this and other available scholarships is on the school website in the Guidance Department section.
