Well done to the Active School Flag class who helped raise over €2000 for Special Olympics Ireland. We were very lucky to get a visit from Anita Forde who won a gold medal for Ireland in the last summers games. Well done to all the students of OLS who collected sponsorship for this fantastic charity.
Pizza Party
6th Years celebrated their last lunch period in the school with a fabulous pizza party Tuesday afternoon. The 5th years arranged the traditional pizza party for the 6th years ahead of Graduation on May 16th. It was a fun-filled lunchtime with songs and plenty of food! Each 6th year was presented with a little bear in their house colour and some chocolate. Well done to the 5th years on their super organisation skills. We wish the 6th years all the best with everything that lies ahead.
Raffle
32 Students and 4 staff are travelling to Nakuru in Kenya this June. While we are there, we will be taking part in some conservation work, working in the community and teaching in Kiboko Primary School. The students and staff have been busy fundraising by running various events including cake sales, coffee mornings, charity swims, half marathons, bag packing, 10km runs etc. We are holding a raffle in school next week to add to our fundraising. All of the money raised will go directly to the community we are working with in Kenya. We plan to renovate a kitchen in the school and purchase books, stationary, teaching resources and other supplies needed for the school community. If you would like to purchase any raffle tickets or make a donation, there is a link on Easypayments called “Kenya.” Raffle tickets cost €2 for 1 strip and €5 for 3 strips. You can purchase as many as you like! Your name will be entered into the draw. There are many prizes up for grabs including a signed Dublin Jersey and a one month gym and pool membership!
Your support is very much appreciated and we can’t wait to show the difference your donations will make to the community in Kenya.
