This morning, OLS students and staff gathered on the Hockey Pitch for a Whole School Céilí led by the Irish Department. The students danced the Ballaí Luimni, Ionsain na Hinse, Sandstorm, Cotton Eyed Joe, Macarena and Dreolin. Congratulations to the Coiste group who organised the occasion and to all for embracing for the action!
Congratulations and a huge well done to Ruby Farrelly P1 who claimed the bronze medal, finishing 3rd in the all-Ireland schools cross country over the weekend. Ruby will now go on to represent Ireland in Schools’ International Cross-Country competition in Scotland in two weeks.
Well done to our Minor Camogie team who made it 3 wins from 3 in their final group game against Mount Sackville. The girls now advance to the semi-final of the Dublin A Championship as group winners.
A reminder to all students that the Colour Run tomorrow is in aid of Special Olympics Ireland, a fabulous cause, and we ask that students donate €5 in return for participating in the Colour Run. This has become a much enjoyed and anticipated event on the Wellbeing calendar and we look forward to the whole school community coming together to get active, have fun and support a worthy cause. Don’t forget your white T-shirt and googles/glasses if you wish! Ní neart go cur le chéile!
If you have any unwanted Christmas chocolates, bottles of wine, or other suitable prizes, please consider donating them to the musical raffle. Donations can be dropped off to Mr. Hannan in Room 49. Thank you for your support!
