Today, the Active School Flag has organised the annual colour run to finish the week on a high! This run is to support Special Olympics. This sport organisation transforms lives through sport for people with an intellectual disability from the age of 4 years old. Currently almost 8,000 athletes from across the island of Ireland participate in 15 different sports through Special Olympics.
This morning the 5th years were on a trip to UCD for a tour of the University.
Congratulations to Ella Meade and Carla Hickey on coming first and second in the TY Bake Off yesterday. We will have our ultimate winner after the Showstopper, round two. Well done to all of the girls who took part.

Congratulations to Aimee Dignam, TY3, who has won a place in the ActionTalks national speech writing competition final. For winning a place in the final, Aimee will win a €50 one-for-all voucher and proceed on to the final which will be held in Dublin in April. This competition is supported by Irish Aid (Department of Foreign Affairs), which funds ActionAid’s Women’s Rights Programme, a programme that works to eliminate violence against women and girls.
Big congratulations to Lia Tobin Howes and Ava Montague from TY. Both students’ individual entries have made it to the long list of the ReLove Fashion competition for 2025. Both girls had online interviews with the judges over the last few days and we wish them all the best of luck in the competition.
News came in late this afternoon that our amazing U14 badminton team are now Leinster champions (having won the Dublin finals a few weeks ago, they competed at Leinster level today)! Well done to Julia McNamara Quinn, Anna O’Brien, Maeve Gannon and Zoe King!
A reminder that school is closed tomorrow, Friday, and Monday, as per school calendar.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
