Dear Parents,
This Wednesday, 4th March, The Green Schools Committee and Eco Ambassadors will launch our inaugural ‘Zero Waste Wednesday’ initiative. This will mean that students will bring their waste home with them in a lunch box on that day, there will be no black bins in operation. Should students wish to purchase food from Get Fresh in Lourdes Hall, the compost bin will be available to them to dispose of compostable packaging and food waste connected with the canteen.
We encourage all of our students to prepare for Wednesday by choosing a lunch that has little or no packaging or using a lunchbox in which waste can be stored. As a community of almost 900 people, we believe that we can make a positive difference to the world around us by taking this small step.
