Multiple Michael Jacksons, trolls, Annies and pigs from Sing thronged the corridors today with creativity and fun. Well done to our 6th Years who performed themed House dances in the Sports Hall to the delight of our costume clad students, many of whom participated in the ‘Costume Catwalk’. Thank you to Ms Flood for organising this school spirit event and to all who contributed generously to our C House Charity, CHI Crumlin.
Our Junior students attended special assemblies in recognition of their achievements this term, particularly in relation to Bí Cineálta. We are especially proud of our Cineáltas Champions, our anti bullying ambassadors, who have been instrumental in raising awareness of kindness, tolerance and respect in our school so far this term. Well done to all of our Merit recipients who received Merit cards today.
This week we celebrated Reading Week and we encourage all of our students to read a little and often over mid term break, readers become leaders! Our students enjoyed a lunch time of InterHouse Countdown yesterday and challenged themselves with conundrums.
Congratulations to (First Photo L to R) Lily Morgan, Amy Hanratty, Ella McGoldrick, Anna O Brien, Isabel Savino for helping Mr Walsh’s P1 SPHE class to learn sign language so that they can become more helpful citizens and aware of the difficulties people who are deaf or hard of hearing face every day.
On Thursday our TY students took part in an engaging workshop led by Concern, exploring the importance of sustainable development and gender equality. The session encouraged students to think critically about global challenges and the role they can play in creating a fairer, more sustainable world.
Well done to Elsa O’Sullivan who has been named Junior Premier Hockey Captain for 26/27.
We wish our 5th Year students of Chinese a memorable trip to China as they head off for a once in a lifetime trip to Asia with Mr Rhatigan and Ms Yang. We look forward to hearing about this exciting experience and thank you to Mr Rhatigan, Ms Yang and UCD for organising this.
Congratulations to Gwen McDermott, Class of 2026, who will receive the University of Galway Excellence Scholarship 2026 and will be recognised at the upcoming awards ceremony taking place on campus in November.
