Some useful information for parents

2nd April 2026 by Olschool

2nd April 2026 by Olschool

Bodywhys recently spoke to our Junior students regarding body image and eating disorders. They explained a little about how students could take more control of their social media platforms to avoid unwanted body-related content. This information is attached below for parents.

The HSE recently launched the second phase of the Youth Vaping and Nicotine Use Prevention campaign.  The first phase of the campaign launched in October 2025 and focused on ensuring parents understood where to get information on vaping and snus (resources in link) and to encourage them to talk to young people about vaping and nicotine. In addition to these resources there is now a HSE campaign targeted at young people through social media. Parents may find the following (very) short video clips of interest when discussing issues like health risks, vaping myths, addiction, new products like snus or pouches, popcorn lung, oral and mental health with the young people in their lives (click here).

Click here to see information about some parenting courses offered by John Sharry that may be of interest.

In other news, our 6th Year students have now completed their Leaving Certificate Irish, Spanish, French and German orals, a wonderful achievement, and we congratulate them on this milestone!

We wish all our families a restful Easter break.
