Well done to the C5s who organised and facilitated a reflective and meaningful Gifts to the Crib ceremony for the school today guided by the theme, ‘Play your part this Christmas’. Thank you to all for the generosity displayed in donations. These will be collected by the chosen charities later this week (Crumlin’s Children’s Hospital, Saoirse Women’s Refuge, St. Vincent de Paul). If anyone forgot their gift today, please drop it to Reception tomorrow.

This term B1 participated in the MSIreland Readathon. As a class, they raised €851.00. They worked incredibly hard fundraising and reading over 100 books between them. To celebrate the end of the Readathon, they had a visit this week from Aoife, an MSIreland ambassador who shared her experience of living with MS. The students also participated in the launch of the new MSIreland student workbook and featured on a number of social platforms. B1 also had a surprise visit from Sinead O’Hart, Irish Children’s book writer who shared lots of tips on how to become a writer. She also shared a recommended booklist for First Years, please see attached. It has been a busy term for B1 in the library!

The TYs had a talk from inspirational speaker Jack Kavanagh yesterday. The TYs were inspired by Jack’s resilience and passion for life. It was a thoroughly enjoyable talk and thank you to the TY reps who facilitated the Q&A.

All 1st Years participated in the Barnardos Online Safety Programme today, which was both enjoyable and very informative.

Cricket Ireland ran a taster course on Monday with great success. We hope to run a 6 week course and some indoor games after Christmas!

We are delighted to follow the ongoing success of past pupil, swimmer Ellen Walshe, at the World Aquatics Swimming Championships in Budapest. Ellen broke 4 national records on the opening day of the competition!! What an inspiration!

Our TY Active School Flag class is busy analysing our activity levels and brainstorming on how to boost them – please see attached their research summary!

We wish the best of luck to the TYs in their exams over the next few days.

Don’t forget to click in to the gallery for some extra photos.
