Congratulations to Aimee Dignam, TY3, who came 1st place at the National Final of the ActionAid speech writing competition. She has been crowned national champion, winner of over 90 entries from across 23 schools. She performed her speech with great power and passion, competing against 5 other very strong candidates from 4th-6th Year. Her speech focused on the importance of the female voice in international aid and at times of crisis. Well done, Aimee!

Congratulations to Beth O’Grady, Ella Fitzgerald, Eva O’Meara and Odette Caffrey who had Féile success at the weekend, bringing home the Dublin Div 1 Camogie Cup to Naomh Jude, winning out against Na Fianna in the GAA Centre in Abbottstown. They will now go on to represent their county at National Féile in June. Eva had the additional honour of being named Player of the Match! A number of other girls in the school also participated in the tournament over the weekend representing their clubs in a wonderful celebration of camogie. Well done to all!
The Free Book Fair from the school library took place Monday and Tuesday during lunch in the GPA. The students were invited to browse around the tables to find their next great reads to take home. This Wellbeing Event was met with great enthusiasm. It was a great pleasure to see the students’ arm full of books!
A group of enthusiastic 2nd Year students took part in a Gaelic Blitz held at the UCD GAA grounds yesterday. The event brought together schools from across south Dublin, offering students a fantastic opportunity to showcase their skills, teamwork, and fair play in a fun and competitive environment. Throughout the day, our students played several matches, displaying great determination and energy! The teams worked well together, supported one another, and represented the school with pride both on and off the pitch. Teachers were particularly impressed by the students’ positive attitude and commitment, as well as the camaraderie shown among teammates. The day was not only about competition but also about enjoying sport, learning from each game, and building confidence. Well done to all who participated!
